I would definitely want to visit Snowdonia National Park in Wales as a tourist.  So many great sights.  How interesting to do mountain leader training here.  And good to know all that such leaders learn in their training.  We learned underwater navigation for scuba diving.  I am sure the night navigation would be interesting too.

The place to learn and practice is chosen perfectly as the sceneries look truly amazing. I love those clouds. It must be a wonderful experience and probably also great bonding with your fellow mountaineers.

  6. I had no idea that these courses existed but it does make sense, as otherwise how could someone become a mountain leader? It’s interesting to know that you need at least 20 hours of mountain days and they have to be on certain routes. Also, it’s good that some of the abroad mountains count as well. The training seems very inclusive, especially that you are requested to do a navigation at night as well.

  8. Snowdonia is one of the most picturesque areas in the world and I am truly impressed by the Mountain Leader training that you took up here. Yes, using the compass and maps with the light coming from the stars at night sounds very exciting. I remember the old school days and camping I have done. You are lucky to have great teachers and responsive group. I wish you all the best in your next step in this course. 🙂
