Chris Whittaker is an expedition leader, outdoor instructor and adventure travel writer who spends most of the year exploring the wild places of the world with his company Global Shenanigans.
Through his work in the outdoor industry he has built a lifestyle centred around adventure, guiding and sharing meaningful experiences in nature.
Chris’s Story
Chris is originally from England and he built his career developing within the outdoor industry in the United Kingdom and overseas. In the summer months he works as a sea kayak guide and expedition leader, leading multi day journeys through remote coastlines and wilderness environments.
During the winter season he works as a snowboard instructor in the mountains, helping people develop their skills in alpine environments.
Alongside this, Chris also works as a writer and talented photographer, documenting his experiences and sharing practical advice for those looking to explore the outdoors more deeply.

Many of his most memorable moments have involved kayaking alongside whales, spotting grizzly bears from the shoreline and exploring landscapes that can only be reached by water or on foot.
Favourite Experieneces
Through his work and travels Chris has explored many wild landscapes around the world. Some of his favourite experiences include kayaking the inside passage between British Columbia and Alaska, Snowboarding in Japan and exploring the coastlines of the Abel Tasman, Adriatic and sea of Cortez. Chris’s passion for exploration, travel and the outdoors is demonstrated in the content he captures and every post or video he creates.
