  1. Antarctica is one of my dream destinations. I’m planning an extended trip to South America and it’s supposed to end in Antarctica – mainly for the wildlife but also for the icebergs and glaciers. I was already pretty impressed as I visited Patagonia, so I can only imagine how Antarctica will blow me away.

  2. I’ve got to go to Antarctica. I know it’s expensive, but I it’s definitely one of THE places I need to see before I die. I don’t even like cold weather, but to experience the ecosystem and to be where few people go would be amazing. Thank you! I really learned a lot from this article. Fabulous.

  3. Love this! I went in 2005 and it was truly the greatest adventure. I would love to return again one day.

  4. Antarctica is on my list & this is a great guide. I hope to get there at the end of next year or early 2022 & this will be invaluable. It sounds like an incredible place & I cannot wait to see it for myself.

  5. A great overview of the white continent!  The most important tip she shared is expect a bad smell from the penguins!

On the travel wish list! Would love to visit Antarctica.   When we circumnavigated South America we got a little taste of the weather around Cape Horn.  But I think we got lucky with ok weather.  Good thing I don’t easily get seasick.  The abundance of wildlife is one of the things we would look forward to.  But our visit to the Falkland Islands showed us how smelly the penguins were!  I think a polar plunge might be fun but I am reserving judgement for now!

  7. Antarctica looks like an amazing place to visit! I have heard that penguins are smelly, and I guess it’s true, lol! Hopefully one day I’ll get to visit and see Antarctica’s wonders for myself.

  9. Such a great adventure! I am very impressed with your journey and photos. Such Antarctic Expeditions is my big dream. I would like to see this wild nature, photograph animals, as penguins, seals, and whales.

  10. This looks awesome! Antarctica sounds beautiful. Now I want to go there. Maybe someday.

  11. Wow! A real once-in-a-lifetime encounter! I have been longing to visit Antartica for many years now, and have had a small savings, which I unfortunately had to break and use for some emergency! I really wish to experience this once! Have read about Drake Passage and the polar plunge, that I am really scary to face!

This was truly fascinating. I have never wanted to visit Antarctic but this article made me rethink this. I get sea sick so not sure about the 48 hours through the Drake but I guess I could be totally drugged up?? Lol.
